Sarah Kinard Wicker, 94, of Prosperity, widow of Ben Chevis Wicker, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Springfield Place.
Born on April 10, 1917, in Newberry County, she was a daughter of the late Holmes Forrest and Chrissie Shealy Kinard. Mrs. Wicker worked at the Lowman Home and was a member of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church where she was a member of WELCA, B Sunday School Class and the Joy Fellowship.
She is survived by daughters, Judy W. (Walter) Johnson of Florence and Becky Wicker of West Columbia; grandchildren, Walter Johnson, Benjie (Jennifer) Johnson, Mark (Sherry) Johnson, Chrissie (David) Prince, Jamie (Jeanna) Martin, Heather (Michael) Livingston and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Ronnie Wicker, a sister, Mildred Enlow and a brother, Lewis Kinard.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011, at St. Philip’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Terry Amick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Helen Beebe, 181 Tailers Trail, Leesville, SC 29070.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Unit 4 at Springfield Place.
