Shirley Ann Hilton Rinehart, 81, of Newberry, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at her residence.
Born on February 28, 1937, in Kershaw, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Annie Belle Catoe Hilton. She was retired after over 50 years as a registered nurse at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Rinehart was a member of Epting Memorial United Methodist Church where she was involved with the Erin Wood Sunday School Class. She was an active member of the Newberry County Relay for Life and she loved Carolina Gamecock football.
She is survived by her husband, James Earl Rinehart; sons, Donnie Earl (Sharon) Rinehart of Moncks Corner, James Keith (Sandy) Rinehart of Simpsonville and Kevin Fletcher (Tina) Rinehart of Columbia; a daughter, Vicki Ann (Peter) Mayo of Walhalla; a sister, Ruth Watts of Kershaw; a special friend of sixty-four years, June Nelson; grandchildren, Justin Rinehart, Julie Lewis, Molly Rinehart, Elizabeth Evitt, Brynna Holland, Clayton Eaves, Kristen Eaves, Sydney Eaves, Lilla Rinehart and Rose Rinehart; step-grandchildren, Peter Mayo, Austin Mayo and Lauren Mayo; seven great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rinehart was predeceased by brothers, Bill Hilton and Bud Hilton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 14, 2018 at Epting Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. William Hightower. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
