Stacy Neville “Jake” Boozer, 44, of Prosperity, died Thursday, February 13, 2014, at his residence.
Born on March 3, 1969, in Aiken, he was a son of Charles Keith Boozer and the late Phyllis Gay Boozer. He worked for Sunrise Auto Supply and was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. Mr. Boozer was a member of Prosperity Masonic Lodge # 115 AFM, Newberry York Rite Bodies, Hejaz Shrine Temple and member and past president of Newberry Shrine Club.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Smith Boozer; daughters, Taylor Elise Boozer and Rebecca Katelynn Boozer of the home; his father and step-mother, Charles “Dusty” and Jeanette Boozer of Newberry; brothers, Rance (Karol) Boozer, Kevin (Luanne) Boozer; step-brother, Gene (Amy) Hopper; step-sisters, Diane (Keith) Bishop and Jennie (Ben) O'Shields; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Taylor. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 W. Farris Road, Greenville, SC 29605, Zion United Methodist Church, 80 Zion Circle, Prosperity, SC 29127 or Blue Ridge Hospice, 110 Ministry Drive, Irmo, SC 29063.
Active pallbearers will be Rick Cheatham, Wayne Campbell, Robert Earl Bobb, J.D. Shealy, Clint Shealy, Jerry Summer, Steven Crowell, Steve Eison and Randy Kitchen.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Newberry Shrine Club, employees of Sunrise Auto Supply and “The Cracker Club”.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of SC Oncology and Blue Ridge Hospice for their loving care during Jake's illness.
