Steve R. Meetze

Steve R. Meetze, 74, of Little Mountain, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born on July 8, 1947, in Little Mountain, he was a son of the late Bernard Ray Meetze and Louise Ringer Meetze. He served in the United States Army and was a certified electrician at SCE&G. He loved gardening and woodworking. He was a member of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church.

Mr. Meetze is survived by a son, Adrian Meetze; two sisters, Martha (Slick) Derrick of Chapin and Geraldine (Wayne) Koon of Little Mountain; and a partner in life, “his angel”, Faye Haltiwanger; one granddaughter, Chloe Meetze and numerous nieces and nephews; his two cats, Tick Tock and Shorty. He was predeceased by his brothers, William Harvey Meetze and Joe Bernard “Butch” Meetze.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at St. Jacob's Lutheran Church in Chapin, SC. by the Rev. David Nuottila and Rev. Andrew David Eargle. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors after the service. Memorials may be made to St. Jacob's Lutheran Church, 844 Columbia Avenue, Chapin, SC 29036.

Active pallbearers will be Barron Meetze, Joe Derrick, Daniel Purcell, Marty Ruff, Kevin Shealy and Johnny Cumalander.
