Steve Griffin

William Stephen Griffin, Sr., 62, of Pomaria, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at his residence.

He was born on March 17, 1952, in Aquadilla, Puerto Rico. He was an Air Force veteran, a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was the owner of Griffin Welding in Pomaria.

Mr. Griffin is survived by his parents, Bright and Essie Overstreet Griffin of Pomaria; his wife of 42 years, Janet Stuck Griffin; sons, William Griffin, Jr. of Pomaria and Brad (Tina) Griffin of Prosperity; a brother, George “Rusty” (Donna)Griffin of Pomaria; grandchildren, Lauren Ruff, Peyton Ruff, Erin Fallaw and Haley Griffin; a sister-in-law, Susan E. Griffin of Ruston, LA and father and mother-in-law, Charles R. and Betty R. Stuck of Newberry. He was predeceased by brothers, John D. Griffin and Charles “Chuck” Griffin.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church by the Rev. Arden Hallman and Rev. Steve Jackson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 209 New Hope Road, Pomaria, SC 29126.
