G. Stockman “Stocky” Richardson, 88, retired mail carrier of Pomaria.

Services for G. Stockman Richardson will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 209 New Hope Road, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Mr. Richardson died Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Born in Pomaria, he was a son of the late George H. Richardson and Rosalie Stockman Richardson. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Ben “Jerry” Richardson.

He was a graduate of Newberry College and the Chaplain's School at Fort Slocum in New Rochelle, New York. He retired from the Postal Service and was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a life long member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church having served on the church council and and was the church treasurer for a number of years.

Surviving are two nieces, Nelle Richardson Corley and Sheri Richardson (Stan) Lazenby both of Pomaria, also two great nieces, Brittany (Kyle) Smith and Lisa (Terrence) Tyson and a great-nephew, Ray Corley all of Pomaria; a foster brother and sister, Charles (Sue) Keating of Greer, SC and Susan (Al) Koon of Chapin, SC.

Active pallbearers will be Ray Corley, Charles Keating, Tommy Griffin, Rob Bowers, Mike Goodman and Jimmy Bonner.
