Sue Ellen Payne

Sue Ellen Wicker Payne, 66, of Newberry, died Friday, August 15, 2014, at her residence.

Born on September 29, 1947, in Newberry, she was the daughter of Virginia Wilson Wicker and the late George Maffett Wicker. Mrs. Payne was retired from the Newberry County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church and attended Wightman United Methodist Church.

She is survived in addition to her mother of Newberry by her husband, Charles Bruce Payne; a daughter, Melanie Payne (Keith) Thrower of Newberry; step-daughters, Angela Payne Erhardt of Little Mountain and Amy Payne (Barry) Shealy of Newberry; three grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, August 18, 2014, at St. Philip's Lutheran Church by Pastor Dean Lollis and the Rev. Terry Amick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1741, Greenwood, SC 29648.
