Susan Smith

Susan Ward Smith, 70, went to Heaven on Monday, October 18, 2021. She was born on December 13, 1950, in Newberry, SC, to the late Frank and Clara Ward.

Susan was a dental hygienist for 50 years. She loved the dental profession and found great joy in taking care of her patients. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Newberry. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and making others smile. Her caring heart and beautiful spirit set her apart. Her family was her pride and joy and she adored being Nana to her six grandchildren. Susan always left a little bit of sunshine wherever she went.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Steve "Byrd" Smith, daughters Kayce Rutledge (Ray) and Megan Zepeda (Lou), and grandchildren Garrett, Haley, Audrey, Judson, Landon, Remi, and sisters Gail and Janet Ward.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Newberry. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall after the service.
