Susie Dorroh

Mary Sue (Susie) Sharpe Dorroh, 89, of Abbeville, SC, passed away at Self Regional Medical Center, Greenwood, on Friday, April 25, 2025.

Born on January 15, 1936, in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ester Owens Sharpe Sr and Lavinia Mary Bauer Sharpe.

Susie, as she liked to be called, spent her life growing her family and caring for everyone she loved. Susie had a strong personality, never met a cat she didn't immediately love, and could not wait for March to roll around, as she loved basketball. Many days, you could find Susie curled up with a good book. She was a wonderful cook and very intelligent.

Susie is survived by her sons Doug (Patty) Dorroh, Henry Dorroh, and Sammy (Gail) Dorroh. Grandchildren: Travis (Michelle) Dorroh, Tamela (Michael) Cohen, David (Courtney) Dominick, Bradley (Betty) Dorroh, Molly Touchton, Kevin (Brittany) Dorroh, Rachel (Brennan) Geer Hahn, Jonathan Geer, Jake (Heather) Dorroh, Kinsley Dorroh, and a Great Grand Nanny to fourteen very loved children.

Susie was predeceased by her brothers, Ester Owens Sharpe Jr, Samuel Andy Sharpe, Raymond W. Sharpe, and her beloved daughter, Cassie Dorroh Geer.

The family has chosen to celebrate Susie's life privately.
