Ruth Stoudemire

Sylvia Ruth Reese Stoudemire, 88, of Greenwood, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at her residence.

Born on March 17, 1937, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Pearl Berley Reese. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Ninety Six.

Mrs. Stoudemire is survived by her husband, Bobby Joe Stoudemire; a daughter, Cindy (Dan) Kayla of Ninety Six; sisters, Virginia (Wayne) Porter of Pembroke, GA, Peggy (Larry) Longshore of Pomaria and Carolyn Lancaster of Newberry; a granddaughter, Carla Hughes and a great-grandson, Cason Hughes.

She was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth Reese, Mary Felder, Marion Spearman, Nancy Bowers and Gussie Raines and a brother, John A. Reese.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 24, 2025, at St. Paul United Methodist Church by the Rev. Valerie Mireb, Rev. Scott Gilmer and Rev. Johnnie Waller. Burial will follow the service at 2:30 pm at Newberry Memorial Gardens in Newberry.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the church.

Memorials may be made to the St. Paul United Methodist Church Trustee Fund, 301 Cambridge Street, Ninety Six, SC 29666.

Active pallbearers will be Konnor Sanders, Kevin Sanders, Bill Spearman, Todd Sanders, Nicky Boozer and Matt Boozer.
