Talmadge Ellisor, 94, of Newberry, widower of Irene Harmon Ellisor, died Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Springfield Place.
Born on October 1, 1923 in Newberry, he was the son of the late Bill and Rosa Moates Ellisor. He was an Air Force veteran where he served as a P38 Crew Chief during World War II. He was bestowed the honor of the American Theater Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Ribbon. He also served a tour of duty in the S.C. National Guard. Mr. Ellisor retired from Newberry Mills. He was a member of Glenn Street Baptist Church and a former member of Epting United Methodist Church where he was involved with the Methodist Men's Club. He was the Newberry High School Band President in 1976.
Mr. Ellisor is survived by a son, Wayne (Mary) Ellisor of Pomaria; daughters, Glenda Gales (John Ferris) of Manning, Karen (Gary) Dymond of Alcolu; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren with two great-grands due in May. He was predeceased by a sister, Olivia Snipes.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Newberry Memorial Gardens.
