Ted Bennett Williams, 57, of Newberry, died Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born on March 9, 1965, in Myrtle Beach, the son of the late Leonard Bennett “D.D.” and Carolyn Kinard Williams. While living in Myrtle Beach he was a life guard and when he returned to Newberry he owned and operated Sunburst Window Cleaning for many years. Ted was an award winning photographer and author and was the owner of Ted Williams Photography. He was also a stringer for the Associated Press. His photography was published in numerous publications including the Newberry Magazine, the Newberry Observer, National Geographic, Rolling Stone, and the New York Times. He was an avid fisherman and loved animals.
He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Stephanie Hendrix; a daughter, Gena (Scott) H. Roton of Newberry; cousins, Kem (Rynn) Kinard and Alyson Kinard all of Newberry; Alan Kinard, Niki Fellers Gonzales, Summer Bedenbaugh, Michael Krauss, Isaac Gonzales, Jordan Bedenbaugh and Jessie Bedenbaugh; friends, Jesse Stevens, Emily James and Debbie Turner; grandson, Drake Roton and his fur-babies, Bella, CoCo and Puddy Tat. He was predeceased Tammy Kinard and Brooke Kinard.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jimmy Counts. The family will receive friends following the service.
