Ted Miller Willingham, Sr., 78, of Newberry, died Sunday, January 15, 2017, at his residence.
Born on October 6, 1938, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Ambrous Olin Willingham, Sr. and Alda Ruth Miller Willingham. He was the owner of Ted's Trim Shop and Body and Wrecker Service, served in the S.C. National Guard and was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn Kyzer Willingham; daughters, Sharon “Shine” (Lee) Ringer and Terry Willingham Lake; sisters, Myra Berley, Helen Smith and Mary Cook; grandchildren, Amanda R. (Adam) Scott, Julee E. Ringer, Stephanie R. (Alan) Moore, Bridgett L. (Michael) Lyles, Brandi Willingham and Tiffany Willingham; great-grandchildren, Mara and Adelay Scott, Kinzley and Easton Lyles and Emma Moore and his “baby”, Daisy. Mr. Willingham was predeceased by a son, Ted “Teddy” Miller Willingham, Jr. and his siblings, Ruth Yon, Olin Willingham, Earl Willingham, John Willingham, Joy Thomas, and Lula Ann Willingham.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jeff O'Dell. Entombment will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Active pallbearers will be Bobby Willingham, Mike Willingham, Jerry Willingham, Steve Smith, Danny Berley, Dodd Thomas and Darren Thomas.
The family would like to thank all of their family and friends as well as Hospice Care of Tri-County for their prayers, visits and support during Ted's illness.
