Thomas Allen Guy, Sr.

Thomas Allen Guy, Sr., 81, of Newberry, widower of Elaine Warren Guy, died Sunday, May 29, 2022, at his residence.

Born on March 20, 1941, in Waynesville, NC, he was a son of the late Larry and Gertrude Rogers Guy. He was a retired truck driver with Bundrick and Son.

Mr. Guy is survived by a son, James Brian (Marla) Moran, Sr. of Newberry; a daughter, Renee (Kenneth) Robinson of Prosperity; brothers, Gary Lee Guy and Ernest Guy both of Newberry and Joe Guy of Easley; grandchildrne, Bethany (JC) Counts, Jensen Moran, Brian (Michelle) Moran, Jr., Nicole (Daniel) Shaw and Jacob Harmon; great-grandchildren, Henley Johnson, Kylyn Counts, Haddie Counts, Sawyer Shaw, Danny Shaw, Emma Shaw, and Ryleigh Moran due in July. He was predeceased by brothers, Arthur Guy, Wayne Guy and Ronnie Guy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jimmy Counts. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-3000.

Active pallbearers will be Brian Moran, Jr., Daniel Shaw, Jacob Harmon, Kenny Robinson, J.C. Counts and Dean Harmon.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Bernardo and his staff, Mrs. Teresa Mathis and the staff at Hospice of Laurens County for their loving care.
