Thomas Thompson

Thomas Larry Thompson, 71, of Prosperity, died Sunday, November 21, 2021, at White Oak Manor.

Born on June 1, 1950, in Chatham, VA, he was a son of the late Sanford H. and Ellen Gertrude Thompson. He was a retired from the US Army Special Forces where he was decorated with numerous medals and honors including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 1960 device, Combat Infantry Badge and was Marksman M14 and M16.

Mr. Thompson is survived by a son, Kenneth (Katelyn) Thompson of Prosperity; a brother, Jerry Doyle of Lincolnton, NC; a sister, Carol Magni of Lincolnton, NC and granddaughter, Mia Thompson. He was predeceased by siblings, Leonard Thompson, Junior Thompson and Joyce Chapman.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, November 26, 2021, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jimmy Counts. The family will be at the home of his son, Kenneth Thompson.
