Tillie Cromer Leitzsey, 86, of Pomaria, widow of George Grady Leitzsey, died Sunday, December 6, 2015, at her residence.

Born on February 8, 1929, in Pomaria, she was a daughter of the late Bennie T. and Olgie Lever Cromer. She was retired from Old School Manufacturing and later worked for Little Folks Day Care. Mrs. Leitzsey was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where she was involved with the United Methodist Women and the 55+ Group. She was a member of the Newberry Road Runners and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Leitzsey is survived by sons, Charles Grady (Susan) Leitzsey and George Earl (Gayle) Leitzsey both of Newberry; sisters, Nannielene Nichols of Silverstreet and Grace (Bob) Pingleton of Newberry; a brother, David L. (Margaret) Cromer of Pomaria; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bob Huggins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 2360 Mt. Pleasant Road, Pomaria, SC 29126 or to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1741, Greenwood, SC 29648.

Active pallbearers will be Dale Cromer, Rodney Cromer, Jeremy Spicer, Ashley Mendenhall, Bryant Shealy and Melvin Epting.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sadie and Bill Logging and members of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church 55+.
