Vendeze C. Bishop

Vendeze Counts Bishop, 68, of Newberry, died Monday, March 30, 2015 at her residence.

Born on February 15, 1947, in Newberry, she was a daughter of Ernestine Shealy Counts and the late David Eugene Counts. She was a cosmetologist and a member of Newberry First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bishop is survived by her husband, Joseph H. Bishop, Jr.; her mother, Ernestine Counts of Newberry; sons, Dean H. (Deanne) Bishop of Conway and Dustin D. (Dee Anne) Bishop of Surfside Beach; a brother, Shealy (Dixie) Counts of Newberry and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Chrissie Counts Koon.

Funeral services will be held at the Newberry First Baptist Church on Wednesday at 1:30 pm by the Rev. Dr. Albert Allen and Rev. Dr. Kenneth Harmon. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon – 1:00 pm Wednesday in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to the Gideons, PO Box 795, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Joshua Bishop, James Bishop, Ryan Bishop, Neil Counts, Jeff Sprowls, and Steve Bishop.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Edwards, Charlie Randall, Tommy Pequeno, and members of the Friends in Faith Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.
