Virginia Bedenbaugh Cannon

Ruth Virginia Bedenbaugh Cannon, 93, of Prosperity, widow of J.R. Cannon, died Monday, April 25, 2022, at her residence.

Born on September 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Maybank and Ruth Smith Bedenbaugh.  She was 1959 graduate of the Farah’s School of Beauty Culture Inc.  Mrs. Cannon was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church where she was in the Adult 2 Sunday School Class, the Essie Hawkins Circle, the New Horizons and  the G.A.L.S. Group.

Mrs. Cannon is survived by daughters, Debra Cannon of Sunset Beach, NC and Susan C. (Dennis) Suber of Peak; grandchildren, Stephen Suber and Meredith S. (Tyler) Noah; a great-granddaughter, Lillie R. Suber and a brother, Ralph (Rosemary) Bedenbaugh.  She was predeceased by a brother, Julian Bedenbaugh.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 29, 2022, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 – 7:30  pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 4056 St. Luke’s Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Essie Hawkins Circle and the G.A.L.S Group.
