Virginia Watts Richardson, 96, of Prosperity, widow of Claude Richardson, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011.
Born on April 5, 1914, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Florence Rebecca Ellisor Watts. She was a former employee of Kendall Company, Oakland Plant. She was a member of the Newberry RSVP and the Jollystreet Community Center. Mrs. Richardson was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Chat and Chew Group and was a former Sunday School teacher and choir member
She is survived by a daughter, Shelby (Rudy) Sheely of Little Mountain; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brent Nichols. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Sheely, 65 church Street, Little Mountain and will receive friends Thursday from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund, 2496 SC Highway 773, Pomaria, SC 29126.
