Wayne Bouknight

J. Wayne Bouknight, 62, of Newberry, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at his residence.

Born on June 7, 1950, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Lewis and Gerlie Derrick Bouknight. He was a former employee of Louis Rich – Kraft Foods, a member of First Baptist Church and the Beer, Beans and Bar -BCrew.

Mr. Bouknight is survived by his wife, Marcia Stone Bouknight; a son, Travis (Laura) Bouknight of Newberry; a daughter, Alicia (Ben) Dukes of Prosperity; a sister, Ella Rae (Rodger) Eargle of Pomaria; a brother, Randall Bouknight of Newberry; a niece, Kimberly Eargle; grandsons, Jared Dukes and Jacob Bouknight and a granddaughter due in three weeks, Ava.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, March 8, 2013, at First Baptist Church by the Rev. David Inman. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will be at his residence. Memorials may be made to Heartstrings Hospice, 115 Blaney Drive, Ste. 109, Columbia, SC 29223 or to First Baptist Church, 1020 Boundary Street, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Ben Dukes, Mike Meadow, Ron Roberts, Randy Bradfield, Gary Bouknight and Rick McCutcheon.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Heartstrings Hospice, Dr. Stanley Juk, Dr. Jim Chow and Gina McKelvey, nurse practitioner.
