Henry Wayne Lominick, 67, of Pomaria, died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens.
Born on September 9, 1941 in Pomaria, he was a son of the late John David and Edna Graham Lominick. Mr. Lominick was retired after 31 years from Uniroyal-Goodrich of Winnsboro and later worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the Newberry Gideon’s, the Pomaria Ruritan, and the Committee of 100 and was a former member of the S.C. National Guard. He was a member of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Lutheran Men and past Sunday school treasurer. He had also served as Past President of the S.C. Lutheran Men.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Hawkins Lominick; sons, William “Bill” (Crystal E.) Lominick of Pomaria and Gregory C. (Heather H.) Lominick of Irmo; a daughter, Beth (Gary) Wise of Newberry; a brother, David L. Lominick of Pomaria; grandchildren, William, Anna, Mary-Kaitlin, Austin and Colton Lominick.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at St. Philip’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Terry Amick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after the service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Philip’s Lutheran Church, 2461 St. Philip’s Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
