Wayne Long

Wayne Heyward Long, 74, of Pomaria, died Sunday, November 15, 2015, at his residence.

Born on March 20, 1941, in Pomaria, he was a son of the late Ernest and Ethel Enlow Long. Mr. Long retired from Georgia Pacific and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Dawkins Long; daughters, Teresa Dominick of Prosperity, Angela Long of Pomaria and Tammy (David III) Wilson of Prosperity; a sister, Linda Winchester of Greenwood; brothers, Earl (Cathy) Long of White Rock and Stanley Long of Miami, FL; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church by the Rev. Arden Hallman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 209 New Hope Road, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers will be James Kinard, Ezell Hancock, Frankie Grimsley, Brian Patterson, Wesley Blackburn and Steve “Country” Dominick.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Tri County Hospice, Billy Dawkins, Gerald Bedenbaugh, Glenn Scott and Thomas Flemon.
