William Luther Kinard, 86, of Prosperity, died Thursday, December 17, 2015, at White Oak Manor.
Born on August 13, 1929, in Newberry County, he was a son of the late John Ernest and Tommie Lee Long Kinard. He was veteran of the Marine Corps and was a member of Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church. Mr. Kinard worked in bridge construction and for the Newberry County Recycle Centers.
He is survived by sons, William Lyles (Debbie) Kinard of Austinville, VA and Edwin Luther (Phyllis) Kinard of Hamlet, NC; daughters, Lona K. Shore and Linda K. Mossmayer both of Prosperity; sisters, Kathleen Crumpton and Pauline (Wayne) Harmon both of Prosperity and Sudie Mae (Perry) Livingston of Pomaria; a brother, James Harold “Butch” (Sadie Rae) Kinard of Prosperity; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Kinard was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Connie Boozer Kinard; a daughter, Dorothy Kinard; a sister, Ernestine Wofford; a brother, John Glenn Kinard; a grandchild and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church Cemetery by the Rev. Floyd Sides. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 – 5:30 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 3074 Bachman Chapel Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Harrison, Alan Harrison, Clayton Kinard, Jacob Walters, Billy Mossmayer and Patrick Davis.
