Mr. William Robert “Bobby” Hentz, Sr. of Little Mountain, entered into the glory of God on Saturday, November 22, 2014.
Bobby was born on June 7, 1944 in Newberry to the late Olin and Mildred Bowers Hentz. He was an avid carpenter and worked for McCroy Construction, Daniels Construction and later went to work for Hentz and Wicker Construction from which he retired. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and also served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 48 years, Glenda Semple Hentz; a son, Robby (Angel) Hentz and daughters, Tina (Lee) Attaway and Dawn (Dave) Rodgers all of Little Mountain. His grandchildren were the light of his life and kept him going through the eight years of his battle with cancer. His grandchildren are Will Attaway, Alex Attaway, Lane Attaway, Alexis Rodgers, David Rodgers, Braxton Rodgers, Troy Hentz and Kaylee Hentz. He is also survived by a brother, Edwin (Lavenia) Hentz of Chapin. Bobby was predeceased by a grandson, Robert Ian Hentz.
He will be missed by his Pa Pa Russ Crew. His “Little Angels” will also miss their Mr. Bobby.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Little Mountain by the Rev. Brett Collins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00- 7:30 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Will Attaway, Alex Attaway, Lane Attaway, Alexis Rodgers, Hunter Eidson, Conner Shearer, Charles Frick, Kevin Shealy, Tommy Price and Larry Hall.
