William "Buddy" Goff

William Henry “Buddy” Goff, 76, of Newberry, died Thursday, March 23, 2017, at his residence.

Born on December 26, 1940, in Newberry County, he was a son of the late Kelly Goff and Emma Long Hendrix Goff. He was retired from IBEW Local Union 776 of Charleston. Mr. Goff attended Celebration Church and was a former member of Freedom Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ora Mae Wilson Goff; a son, Bennett “Bubba” Dennis of Newberry; daughters, Emma (Melvin) Matthews and Donna (Martin) Berry both of Saluda and Gina Shirey of Newberry; a brother, Jack Goff of AL; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Goff was predeceased by daughters, Gail Bradley and Hope Goff, granddaughter, October Matthews and siblings, Elizabeth Ann “Bootsie” Lipscomb, Kelly Goff and Douglas “Bo Jack” Goff.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Baxter Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, 950 W. Farris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or to the Newberry County Humane Society, PO Box 485, Newberry, SC 29108.
