William Taylor (Bill) Burrell, age 92, of Newberry, South Carolina went to be with the Lord on October 13th, 2020.
He was born in Habersham County, Georgia on June 4th, 1928, the 7th and youngest child of Alford Marion Burrell and Cordelia Thomas Burrell. In 1949 he and Kathryn Doris Collins of Greenville, South Carolina were married and they had and raised two daughters together. At the time, he worked at the Woodside Textile Mill in Greenville. He and his wife later moved to Fountain Inn, SC where he worked at and retired from the Beattie Textile Mill. He was a member of Fairview Street Baptist Church in Fountain Inn and then attended Buffalo Baptist Church in McCormick and of late attended West Acres Baptist Church in Augusta and Bethel Baptist Church in Prosperity SC with his daughters.
After his wife Kathryn passed in 1998, he married Annie Elizabeth Brock Link of McCormick County, SC and they resided in the McCormick, South Carolina area.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Kathryn Collins Burrell and Elizabeth Brock Link Burrell, his brother Arthur Burrell (Pauline) of Elberton, GA and his sisters Emma Carter (Jim) of Cornelia, GA, Arbie Elrod (Floyd) of Gastonia, NC, Lorena Burrell, Janette Guffey (Frank) of Pendleton, SC, his half-brother Luther Martin Burrell (Myrtle) of Greenville, SC and his half-sisters Rene Ramey (Jordan) of Gainesville, GA and Martha Greenway (John) of Greer, SC.
Surviving are his sister Annie Mae Hamrick of Shelby, NC, daughters Carol Sue Williams Cavanaugh (Dennis) of Grovetown, GA and Jennifer Leigh Silver (Stan) of Prosperity, SC, step-daughter Sandra Busbee (Butch) of McCormick, step-son Charles Link (Connie) of McCormick. His grand-daughters are, Candance Williams Turcotte (Steve) of Coronaca, SC and Sabrina Williams Coleman (Chris) of Graniteville, SC. His grand-sons are Justin Silver (Jennifer) of Gilbert, SC and Jon Silver (Danielle) of Blairsville, GA, as well as 5 step-grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 14 step-grand-children and 2 GG grandchildren.
A quiet, loving gentleman, he will be laid to rest in Graceland East Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Simpsonville, Greenville County, South Carolina on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 2:30 pm following a 12 Noon service at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Newberry. The family will receive friends following the chapel service.
