William Henry Traylor, 79, of Silverstreet, died Monday, March 28, 2011, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
Born on April 23, 1931, in Monticello, he was a son of the late C.M. and Floride Feaster Traylor. He was retired from the S.C. Forestry Commission after 30 years and was a member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary D. Traylor; a son, Eddie Traylor; a daughter, Mrs. Gene (Ann) Thomas all of Silverstreet; a sister, Eva Waldrop of Newberry; grandchildren, Nick Zueger of West Columbia and Jessica C. Griffen of Silverstreet; step-grandchildren, Mrs. Tommy (Michelle) Butler, Mrs. Brian (Suzanne) Bailey both of Woodruff and Bryan Thomas of Irmo; great-grandchildren, Will and Caroline Zueger and Carleton L. “C.J.” Griffen, Jr.; step-great-grandchildren, Cole and Noah Butler, Abbey and Emma Bailey and Ethan and Emily Thomas. Mr. Taylor was predeceased by his siblings, C.M. Traylor, Jr., David H. Traylor, Jimmy A. Traylor and Alberta T. DeHart.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Smyrna Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Scott Hill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service Thursday from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Smyrna Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 32 Smyrna Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
