William W. Collins, Jr.

William Wesley Collins, Jr., 70, of Prosperity, widower of Glenda Ruth Holland Collins, died Saturday, September 8, 2012, at his residence.

Born on August 11, 1942, in Great Falls, he was a son of the late William Wesley Collins, Sr. and Christine Garner Collins. He was retired form W.R. Grace, Inc. and was a US Air Force veteran. Mr. Collins was an avid Civil War Reenactor and a former member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans and Newberry Moose Lodge.

He is survived by a son, William Wesley Collins III of Pomaria and a granddaughter, Courtney Lynn Collins. He was predeceased by a sister, Jewel Rogers.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Zion United Methodist Church by Mr. Bill Shuler. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Newberry County, 303 W.
