Willie Bedenbaugh

Willie Bowie Bedenbaugh, 74, of Saluda, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Hospice Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood.

Born on June 3, 1938, in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late J.A. Frank and Sadie Lou Dodgen Bowie. She was a member of Colony Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class, the Friendship Group and a Youth Advisor.

Mrs. Bedenbaugh is survived by her husband, J. Wendell Bedenbaugh; a son, Walter Able of Greenwood; daughters, Kathy Worthington of Greenwood, Brenda Rodgers of Saluda, Sabrina Manning and Tian Ware both of Prosperity; a sister, Frankie Mitchell of Greenwood; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, James Wendell Bedenbaugh, Jr., a sister, Katie B. Powell and a brother, John Humphrey.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Colony Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jerry Trantham. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Colony Lutheran Church Bus Fund, 48 Colony Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
