Wilma W. Mack

Wilma Werts Mack, 93, of Newberry, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at White Oak Manor.

Born on October 26, 1919, in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Edwin and Annie Wise Werts. Her life's passion was nursing which she pursued for about 60 years beginning in the early 1940's. She worked at the State Hospital in Columbia, Whitten Center in Clinton, Self Hospital in Greenwood and J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home in Newberry. Until her declining health, she was an active member of Summer Memorial Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Mack is survived by her daughter, Carolyn “Judy” (John) Bedenbaugh , of Prosperity; granddaughters, Kim (John) Uhas of Atlanta, GA, Amy (Brian) Rossett of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Joann Filzer of Oviedo, FL, Jeanene White of Charleston and a number of nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Broadus Mack, three sisters and two brothers.

A memorial services will be held on March 30, 2013, at 2:00 pm at Summer Memorial Lutheran Church, Newberry, SC. Visitation will follow the service at the church. The family requests no flowers.
