Woodrow Lee “Huck” Huffstetler, Jr. 82, of Prosperity, died Saturday, July 29, 2017 at his residence.
Born on June 2, 1935 in Lexington, he was a son of the late Woodrow Lee Huffstetler, Sr. and Nellie Stogner Huffstetler Porter. He was a 1954 Graduate of Olympia High School and served in the South Carolina National Guard. He retired from Security Forces of Columbia was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and loved the Carolina Gamecocks.
He is survived by his wife, Claire Richardson Huffstetler; daughters, Leesa Chavis of Prosperity and Mary (Alex) McDonald of Columbia; a son, Jacob (Leah) Huffstetler of Prosperity; sisters, Margaret (Marvin) Norman, Mary (Billie) Boyd, and Marcia (Henry) Youngblood; a brother, Michael (Cathy) Huffstetler; grandchildren, Hayley (Brandon) Hancock, Courtney (James) Carle, Grace Chavis, Alex McDonald V, Jack McDonald, Drew McDonald, Anna Huffstetler, and Hayden Huffstetler; and 8 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his step-mother, Doris Taylor Huffstetler and a sister, Betty Switzer.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 5, 2017, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Boys Farm, PO Box 713, Newberry, SC 29108.
