Zachary Boozer

Zachary Michael Boozer, 21, of Lenoir, NC, went on to heaven to be with Jesus and the angels on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 after a lifelong illness with muscular dystrophy. Zachary was greatly loved by so many over the years of his life. Everyone will greatly miss his wonderful smile. We know that he is smiling now in heaven with Jesus and all the angels.

Zachary is the son of Delores Gail and Joey A. Boozer of Lenoir. He was born on December 31, 1991 in Newberry, SC where he was raised up before moving to North Carolina six years ago. He loved the many years here including the peaceful mountain settings.

Zachary is survived by his parents of the home, a loving and caring sister, Tabitha Michelle Boozer and a special brother, Joshua Talmadge Boozer, also of the home; his grandmother, Barbara Louise Taylor of Whitmire, SC; two special great-aunts, Mrs. Peggy Hipp Garrett of Batesburg, SC and Mrs. Narvis Werts of Prosperity, SC.

Zachary was diagnosed 17 years ago with Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy and has been strong and a courageous young man through this long battle.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur Milton "Hoss" and Dessie Rae Hipp Boozer of Prosperty, SC.

A funeral service was held in Pendry's Chapel Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Jesse Carr officiating. Interment followed at Laurel Cemetery. The family received friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank Dr. Marc Guerra and the staff at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care for their wonderful care of Zachary.
